Jill Moffatt OLY

2x Olympic Rower, PhD Student, and freelance journalist.

Thanks for checking me (and my work!) out.

I’m Jill Moffatt, a two-time Olympic rower, researcher, and writer focused on gender equity in sport. As co-founder of MOMentum and a PhD student at Laurentian University, my work sits at the intersection of lived experience, research, and storytelling.

Through my academic research and freelance journalism, I examine how women are represented, supported, and valued in sport, and where change is still needed. This site brings together my work, ideas, and projects aimed at making sport a more equitable space for women.

Featured Works

This is a selection of pieces I’m most proud of. They reflect my greatest passions, trying to answer questions around gender equity, reveal structural barriers for women athletes, reproductive agency, and using my own story to destigmatize mental health.

Each piece is shaped by my lived experience as an athlete, my academic training, and my belief that thoughtful storytelling offers an opportunity to bring awareness to uncomfortable truths.
