Jill Moffatt OLY

2x Olympic rower, PhD student, freelance journalist & social media consultant.

Thanks for checking me (and my work!) out.

I’m Jill Moffatt, a two-time Olympic rower, researcher, writer, and communications consultant focused on gender equity in sport.

Through my work as co-founder of MOMentum, a PhD student at Laurentian University, and a freelance journalist, I bring together lived experience, research, and storytelling to help organizations better understand and communicate the issues shaping women’s sport.

I specialize in strategic communications, social media, content creation, and storytelling — helping sport organizations, nonprofits, and purpose-driven brands share meaningful stories and connect with their audiences. My research and journalism explore how women are represented, supported, and valued in sport, and where change is still needed.

This site brings together my writing, research, projects, and communications work dedicated to building a more equitable future for women in sport.

Featured Works

This is a selection of pieces I’m most proud of. They reflect my greatest passions, trying to answer questions around gender equity, reveal structural barriers for women athletes, reproductive agency, and using my own story to destigmatize mental health.

Each piece is shaped by my lived experience as an athlete, my academic training, and my belief that thoughtful storytelling offers an opportunity to bring awareness to uncomfortable truths.
